Lumbar (Low Back)

In any given year, more than 65 million Americans suffer with low back pain and related symptoms.  Roughly 90% of these cases can be attributed to lumbar radiculopathy.  For mild to moderate symptoms the cause of compression or irritation on the nerve root is a bulging disc.  A disc rupture, lumbar stenosis, spondylosis and spondylolisthesis can each cause severe back pain, leg pain, neurogenic claudication, weakness, numbness and changes in reflexes.

At Texas Brain & Spine Center, Dr. James Gregory Bonnen performs leading-edge lumbar sugeries, most of which are minimally invasive (unless inappropriate).
