My love of medicine and my nurturing nature have led me to where I am as a Neurosurgical Physician Assistant. I was born in Detroit, Michigan transplanted to Florida in my teenage years, attended college in Notre Dame, Indiana and have now been in Texas for the last 20 years. In all of the places I have lived, I have memories of actively pursuing a future in medicine, and specializing in the brain and spine; from being “nurse Nancy” to my family and friends, to completing a 4-year International Science Fair project on brain hemisphere dominance in high school, to pursuing a pre-professional science undergraduate degree, and finally completing my Master’s in Physician Assistant studies. I take pleasure evaluating my patients from the very first visit, through assisting in the operating room for their surgery, and then helping them in the post-operative recovery period. I have worked with Texas Brain and Spine center for over 5 years because I strongly believe that Dr Bonnen and our office staff strive to treat the whole patient - physically, emotionally, and spiritually -not just the surgical diagnosis.
In my spare time I am usually spending time at home with my husband, three children, two dogs, two cats, and hamster. I also like to "de-stress" and stay fit by running, and am active in my church in the compassion and youth ministries.
